The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) announced that the prizes for the teams winning the Super Coupe 2025 have been increased.
This decision was announced on Monday, December 22, 2025, during a press briefing on preparations for the Super Coupe match scheduled for January 10, 2026.
FERWAFA’s First Vice President in charge of Technical Affairs, Mugisha Richard, said that increasing the prizes in both categories aims to give value to women’s teams.
He stated, “This decision to increase the prizes was made so that the teams winning the Cup, whether men or women, are given equal value.”
He added, “This is one of the measures aimed at giving recognition to women’s teams and reinforcing the commitment of those participating in FERWAFA competitions.”
The official noted that their plan is to continue increasing prizes for all teams participating in competitions in Rwanda, to demonstrate the value of football.
The prize has been increased to 20 million Rwf for the team that wins the Cup, up from 10 million Rwf, while the runner-up team’s prize has also been increased to 10 million Rwf.
