Eliud Kipchoge Finishes 6th at the 2025 London Marathon

Mohamed Dhoore, Somalia

Nobody was expecting Eliud Kipchoge to win the elite men’s race at Sunday’s 2025 London Marathon, but he proved that age is no barrier to greatness at the age of 40.

In his 22nd career marathon, Eliud Kipchoge finished sixth at the 2025 London Marathon, running a time of 2:05:25.

Kipchoge, who turned 40 in November, was the top finisher in the masters division, although he fell short of Kenenisa Bekele’s masters world record of 2:04:15 from London last year.

The Kenyan, a four-time winner in London, has not raced in the British capital since 2020. The former world marathon record holder finished eighth in his last London Marathon appearance in 2020 and will be seeking his first victory since winning the Berlin Marathon for the fifth time in 2023.
