NESA Launches PISA 2025 Campaign in Rwanda

The Ministry of Education, through the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), has announced the launch of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the 2025 PISA assessment. The campaign will run from March 17 to April 6, 2025, and then continue from April 15 to April 26, 2025.

This campaign aims to inform all stakeholders in education, including students, teachers, parents, and school leaders, about the upcoming international assessment that will take place in Rwanda from April 27 to June 7, 2025.

The focus will be on raising awareness of PISA, its significance in providing insights into the country’s education system, and its role in comparing the academic performance of Rwandan students with those from other countries.

The official launch event will take place at ES Kanombe/EFOTEC on Monday, March 17, 2025, starting at 14:00 PM.

PISA aims to assess students’ ability to apply their knowledge in real-life situations, evaluating their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Launched in 1997 by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), PISA is conducted every three years. Since 2000, it has involved 15-year-old students in assessments covering reading, mathematics, and science. This will be Rwanda’s first time participating in the assessment.
