RSSB Tigers BBC in the men’s category and APR Women’s BBC in the women’s category are the winners of the 2026 FERWABA Super Cup titles, following matches held at BK Arena on Friday night. These annual games, organized by the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA), serve as the official opening of this year’s league season.

In the men’s category, RSSB Tigers BBC defeated APR BBC 78-68. Tigers displayed a refined performance from the start, dominating the first half through solid defense and clinical execution of their offensive opportunities. Although APR BBC attempted to increase their pace in the second half to bridge the gap, Tigers maintained their composure until the end of the game.

In this match, Albert Einstein Odero played a pivotal role in Tigers’ victory, scoring 20 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and orchestrating the play with 3 assists. This performance helped his team start the 2026 sports year by winning the Super Cup trophy against APR BBC.
In the women’s category, APR Women’s BBC defeated REG Women’s BBC 75-62. APR showed great skill in defending and ball circulation, leading to a 13-point gap at the end of the first half, where they led 39 to REG’s 26. In the second half, APR continued to lead the game until the final whistle.
Jane Dusabe was the standout performer of the match, recording 13 points, 15 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. Her performance under the basket was instrumental in securing the trophy for APR Women’s BBC and underscored the team’s readiness before the league begins.

This year’s Super Cup games demonstrated that the teams are ready to compete as the start of the 2026 league season approaches.
