On the night of April 25 2026 the eyes of the entire world were focused on Washington D.C. following a security-shaking incident attempted during the major festivities of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. These festivities had gathered top leaders including Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump Vice President JD Vance journalists and various celebrities.
The person immediately named as the suspect in launching this attack is Cole Tomas Allen a 31-year-old man from Torrance California who was known as a highly educated person with expertise in technology. His story immediately spread across the whole world because of how surprising it was to see a person who had a normal life attempting to target the top leaders of a powerful country like the United States of America.
Allen was born and raised in California where he appeared as an exceptionally intelligent student. He finished his undergraduate studies at the California Institute of Technology in 2017 in the field of Mechanical Engineering later continuing at California State University Dominguez Hills where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Science in 2025. Those who taught him described him as a student who consistently maintained good grades loved research was calm and careful. He even once won awards in the field of robotics and participated in technology projects that help people with disabilities.

He worked as a teacher at C2 Education was an Assistant Teacher at Caltech was a Mechanical Engineer and also made video games as an independent developer. In 2024 he was given the Teacher of the Month award things that showed him as a person with a bright future.
Security agency information shows that he left California and took a train to Washington D.C. arriving there one day early in order to properly prepare his action. He had various weapons including a shotgun a handgun and other powerful equipment. Before he went to attempt it he wrote a document explaining his thoughts a manifesto which he sent to members of his family showing that he had a plan to target top leaders including Trump.
On the day of the festivities it began at eight in the evening after top leaders had arrived at the event location in the Washington Hilton. While it was continuing well at 8:34 in the evening Allen attempted to enter through a security checkpoint pushing those in charge of security and firing between five and eight bullets. At that time he immediately met the strong defense of the Secret Service which immediately shielded President Trump and took him out along with his family. One Secret Service worker was shot but did not have a serious problem because he was wearing a bulletproof vest. Allen was immediately captured before entering the main room where the festivities were taking place.
