Amavubi is set to conclude their World Cup qualifying campaign in a match against South Africa.

Rwanda’s national team, Amavubi, has traveled to South Africa where they will finish their campaign in the final match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Amavubi departed from Kigali International Airport in Kanombe on the morning of Saturday, October 11, 2025.

They headed to South Africa after being defeated 1-0 by Benin in front of President Paul Kagame yesterday at Amahoro Stadium.

The national team will play against South Africa on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Mbombela Stadium in the final match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying journey, which will take place in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, in Group C.

Rwanda’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup have ended, as they are currently in fourth place in the group with 11 points.

Benin leads the group with 17 points and has the best chance of qualifying. South Africa is second with 15 points, while Nigeria is third with 14 points.
