Rayon Sports has departed Rwanda for Tanzania where they are set to face Singida Black Stars FC in the return leg of the preliminary round of the 2025 CAF Confederation Cup. The match is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
In the first leg held at Kigali Pele Stadium, Rayon Sports lost 1-0, meaning they now need a win to advance to the next stage of the competition, which brings together the runners-up from national leagues across Africa.
Players and coaches of Rayon Sports expressed confidence ahead of the trip to Tanzania, affirming their determination to secure an away victory. Midfielder Niyonzima Olivier Sefu stated that the team is in good spirits and ready for the challenge.
He said: “We are doing well and thank God we have no problems. We are ready to compete and see if we can secure qualification. In the first leg, things didn’t go as planned, but it’s still possible.”
Forward Habimana Yves echoed that the team has one goal: to win. He said: “We are fully focused on our mission and I believe things will go well. We assure Rayon Sports fans that we will do everything possible to qualify.”
Rayon Sports will need to win by at least 2-0 to progress to the next round. This match is seen as a crucial test of the team’s strength on the continental stage.
