REG WBBC is strengthening its roster in preparation for the upcoming Zone 5 African Championship to be held in Kenya, by signing American guard Kayana Traylor, who has previously played in the WNBA.
Kayana Traylor, who plays as a guard, began her WNBA journey with the Chicago Sky before joining the Minnesota Lynx. She later moved to Europe, where she played for several teams including Charnay Basket Bourgogne Sud (France), Bodrum Basketbol (Turkey), and Maccabi Ramat Gan (Israel).
The 25-year-old joins REG WBBC to strengthen the team’s ambitions in the Zone 5 competition, where the club aims to secure qualification for the Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) 2025.
Kayana becomes REG WBBC’s third new signing this season, following Malu Irebu Grace from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kiyobe Chantal, a Rwandan player who features for KPA in Kenya.
The Zone 5 tournament will take place in Kenya from November 9 to 15, 2025, with the top three teams earning qualification to represent the region in the WBLA.
