The management of Rayon Sports Women Football Club paid the players their salary for November 2025, while asking coaches and other staff members to be patient due to financial constraints.
The salaries were paid on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Only the players of Rayon Sports WFC received payment, with the aim of allowing them to celebrate the festive season with peace of mind.
Despite the players being paid, the club’s management did not pay the coaches and other staff who handle the team’s daily operations. After failing to receive their salaries, Abdallah Murenzi, who is heading the three-month transitional leadership of Rayon Sports, asked the unpaid staff to be patient, explaining that the club had been let down by a partner.
In a message he shared on a platform that connects club leaders, he requested coaches and other unpaid staff to remain patient, acknowledging that they were entering the festive season without receiving their due salaries, and reminding them that the club had been disappointed by the partner they were relying on.
He said, “We continued to rely on a partner who was supposed to provide us with funds so that we could pay everyone properly, but they kept misleading us and eventually disappointed us.”
He added that patience was necessary, noting that although challenges remain, solutions will be found so that delayed salary payments—such as being paid after 45 or 50 days—will become a thing of the past at the club. While asking for patience, he assured the staff that quick solutions to settle their salaries are being sought.
He stated, “We ask you to stand with us as we continue to look for immediate solutions so that we can deliver what is owed to you [your salaries].”
Meanwhile, the first round of the Women’s League has concluded, with Rayon Sports WFC currently in second place on the table with 21 points, three points behind league leaders Police WFC, who have 24 points.
