Rwandan international referee Mukansanga Salima reminded teenage girls who play football that pursuing sports with dedication can open many doors and transform their lives.
She made these remarks at the end of a training camp held in Huye District, which brought together girls under the ages of 15 and 17 from six selected schools. The initiative was organized through a partnership between FERWAFA and Sports Scolaire.

The aim of the camp was to help the girls improve their physical fitness and technical skills, with training provided by professional coaches at Stade Kamena in Huye.
In her message, Mukansanga emphasized that sports can be a sustainable career and a way to support not only oneself but also one’s family—provided it is approached with commitment and discipline. She urged the girls to make the most of the opportunity they had been given, to grow in mindset and character.
She shared that sports had given her the opportunity to represent both her country and the world, and encouraged the girls by affirming that they too have the potential to go even further than she has.
Officials from FERWAFA and Sports Scolaire stated that another similar camp is planned for next year, along with a competition among the schools to assess the players’ progress.
