Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on Monday ratified the Cooperation in Defense and Defense Industry agreement between #Somalia and Azerbaijan, which was reached in February 2025.
The agreement paves the way for enhanced technical support and military knowledge-sharing to bolster Somalia’s defense capabilities.
The ratification comes at a crucial time for Somalia as the country continues to face various security challenges, including threats from extremist groups and ongoing internal conflicts.
The cooperation agreement is expected to facilitate joint military exercises, training programs for Somali forces, and the provision of defense equipment from Azerbaijan.
