RwandAir and Qatar Airways Suspend Flights Due to Regional Security Concerns

In a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and crew, Rwandan national airline RwandAir has temporarily suspended flights to and from Doha, Qatar, and Dubai, UAE. This decision follows the closure of Qatari airspace amid reports of missile attacks on U.S. military bases located in Qatar.

In a statement released on June 23, 2025, RwandAir announced that all flights scheduled for June 23 and 24 have been canceled. The airline also noted that affected passengers will be allowed to reschedule their flights at no extra cost.

This move mirrors a similar decision by Qatar Airways, which has also suspended all flights until further notice due to the ongoing airspace closure and regional instability.

RwandAir stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updated information should circumstances change.

The suspension of flights comes in the wake of a statement by Iran on Monday evening, claiming responsibility for missile strikes targeting U.S. air operations at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Both airlines have reiterated their commitment to the safety and well-being of their passengers and staff, emphasizing that further updates will be communicated as the situation evolves.
