TOURNAMENT TO MOBILISE YOUTH TO REGISTER AS VOTERS

Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang has unveiled the 4th Edition of the Allan Chesang Super Cup at Maridadi Primary School, describing the tournament as a rallying platform to mobilise young people across the county to register as voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The Senator urged the youth to take charge of their future by using their numbers to shape the country’s leadership, calling on them to back President William Ruto’s re-election bid and to vote out leaders who have failed in service delivery.

Chesang accused Governor George Natembeya of mismanaging key social sectors particularly health saying the county’s deteriorating medical services had forced him, despite limited resources, to introduce mobile clinics to bridge the gap.

“We cannot keep complaining about poor leadership and still fail to act. The power to change leadership lies in our hands through the ballot,” said Chesang. “This Super Cup is not just about football,it’s about awakening civic responsibility and building a generation that votes for transformation.”

The Senator said the tournament, which has grown into one of the biggest youth events in the county, will serve a dual purpose; promoting talent and driving mass voter registration.

This year’s edition will see winners walk away with KSh 1.5 million (men) and KSh 1.85 million (women), with all participating teams receiving two sets of uniforms.

“The Allan Chesang Super Cup is about scoring progress both on and off the pitch,” he added. “It’s a movement for talent, empowerment, and voter awareness.”

The tournament, running through various sub-counties, is expected to attract top scouts, enhance youth engagement, and reinforce the Senator’s call for active political participation through sports.
