International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Regional Director Calls for Continued Efforts in Peace Advocacy

International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 8 Regional Director Kim Eun-hee has urged women peace advocates worldwide to continue their efforts in promoting peace. 

Speaking at a virtual meeting with over 50 participants from countries like the Netherlands, North Korea, and Zambia, Kim emphasized the importance of sacrifice and devotion to achieving peace.

In her presentation dubbed: ‘’Women’s Voices for Peace-building’ Ms Kim Eun-hee said 2025 looks promising as she called on the advocates to fulfill their peace pledges.

She encouraged attendees to use the opportunity to reflect on their journey towards peace for all by envisioning the peaceful world.

Ms Kim Eun-hee said just as the existence and development of a nation depend on the sacrifices and devotion of many,, peace can only be achieved through the noble commitment and efforts of countless individuals. 

“Thank you for being with us this year, and let’s continue together next year,’’ she said.

“It is an honour to stand before you today as the first peace education graduate in Zambia. Looking ahead, the future direction of IWPG in Zambia should be rooted in collaboration and inclusivity. We must deepen our partnerships with various stakeholders, including government, civil society, and educational institutions,’’ she said.

IWPG, is registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Global Communications (DGC) as an international women’s NGO.

It operates boasts of 114 branches in 122 countries and collaborates with over 730 partner organizations in 66 countries. 

With the vision of achieving “Realizing sustainable world peace,” IWPG actively works to spread solidarity, promote a culture of peace, provide women’s peace education, and advocate for the legislative support of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).
