On Sunday, November 30, 2025, the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) announced through its social media platforms new committees that will support the Executive Committee in various responsibilities. Among them appear well-known figures in Rwandan football and media, including Ntagungira Céléstin, known as ‘Abega,’ and Bagirishya Jean de Dieu, known as ‘Jado Castar.’
Among the newly established bodies is the AD HOC Committee in Charge of Infrastructure, chaired by Birungi Jean Bosco, with Vivian Kayitesi as his deputy, and members including Hadji Yussuf Mudaheranwa, Niyitanga Désire, Gisanura Raoul and Urayeneza John.
There is also the AD HOC Committee in Charge of Preparing FERWAFA’s Five-Year Strategic Plan (2025–2030), chaired by Ntagungira Céléstin ‘Abega’ with Nikita Gicanda as deputy. Members of this committee include Bagirishya Jean de Dieu, Bonnie Mugabe, Gérard Buschier, Taremwa Abel, Nshuti Thierry and Murangwa Eugène Eric.
Ntagungira Céléstin ‘Abega’ was the President of FERWAFA until 2014, when he was replaced by Nzamwita Vincent. Afterwards, he served in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) in the refereeing development department.
Jado Castar and Murangwa Eugène Eric also joined these committees supporting the Executive Committee, both bringing experience in sports governance and Rwandan football.
