General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of President Yoweri Museveni, issued a warning to foreign actors who support Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, who is politically challenging his father.
In a message he posted this Monday on X (formerly Twitter), Kainerugaba said that “Kabobi,” as he often calls him, and his supporters are bringing a wave of serious problems upon themselves.
In what he described as a warning to Kabobi, whom he called a “puppet” of colonialists and their agents, Gen. Muhoozi said that disrespecting Uganda’s security institutions for personal gain would not bring him peace.

The senior military officer wrote that even if Bobi Wine were to cry out to heaven, nothing would happen in Uganda without the approval of his father’s government, President Museveni.
This came after Bobi Wine, in a post on X, appealed to Elon Musk, saying that while people were celebrating the alleged arrest of Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela by the United States, the situation in Uganda remained dire.
The musician-turned-politician told Musk that in Uganda, Musk’s company Starlink had shut down the internet during the period of electoral campaigns ahead of the January 15 elections, in which he is competing against Museveni.
As usual, he criticized Museveni, accusing him of running a dictatorship, suppressing freedoms, killing and abducting citizens, and targeting political opponents.
He said: “I beg you, restore Starlink internet so that Ugandans can communicate and be given a chance to determine their future.”
Alongside videos showing the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) engaged in intense military training, Gen. Muhoozi hinted that Bobi Wine and those he called colonialists would face consequences if they continued to play games with Uganda’s security.
Gen. Muhoozi also shared other videos highlighting Uganda’s development in various sectors, adding that colonialists deliberately ignore such achievements.
He said: “Colonialists will never show these good achievements. We are closely monitoring them; they will be held accountable.”
This is not the first time Gen. Kainerugaba has warned Bobi Wine, as he had also told him in January 2025 that he would be beheaded.
Uganda’s presidential and parliamentary elections are scheduled for January 15, 2026.
Museveni, now 80 years old, has ruled Uganda since 1986, placing him fourth among Africa’s longest-serving leaders.
