HEAVENLY Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) in Zambia recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Lusaka Museum, joining the global commemoration of this milestone. The event drew over 150 participants from all walks of life, highlighting the community’s commitment to promoting peace.
The HWPL media team in Zambia issued a statement outlining the event’s activities, which aimed to raise awareness about individual roles in fostering world peace. The organization emphasized the importance of community involvement in promoting peace and avoiding conflict, even in areas currently experiencing peace and tranquility.
The event featured an exhibition of paintings by virtual artist Tamanda Namukoko and her peace tree. Participants were encouraged to engage in peace-promoting games and donate blood, with over 30 individuals contributing to the noble cause in collaboration with the Zambia National Blood Transfusion Service.
The International Peace Youth Group (IYPG) was also present, promoting the theme “Youth on the Frontline: Steering Zambia towards Sustainable Peace.” Additionally, HWPL showcased its peace education projects, with seven participating schools signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HWPL and peace educators, and 126 peace ambassadors were recognized.
HWPL has been championing peace education workshops in Zambia and globally, marking its 10th anniversary on September 18th, celebrated in over 122 countries worldwide. The theme for the celebration was “Creating a World Peace Community through Regional Collaborations.” As an International Non-Governmental Organization affiliated with ECOSOC, HWPL has achieved significant milestones through 10 years of international cooperation, boasting 500,000 members in 170 countries and conducting various peace projects, including MoU signings and activities.
