The Hip-Hop concert known as “Icyumba cya Rap” is set to return for its second edition, scheduled for December 26, 2025. This event aims to bring together the youth who love rap music and various Rwandan rappers, while also showcasing the growth of the genre in the country.
According to MA Africa, the company organizing the concert, between five and ten artists are expected to perform this time around. Talks have already started with some of them, while discussions with others are still ongoing to ensure a diverse lineup in terms of talent and artistic identity.
The organizers emphasize that their goal is to provide a broader platform for Rwandan rap and bring it closer to its audience. They state that this upcoming edition is being prepared with a fresh approach, including increased support tailored to the different capacities of the artists involved.
So far, the venue for the concert has not yet been announced, but the organizers are urging fans to mark the date and prepare for what they describe as a special day for Hip-Hop lovers.
The first edition of “Icyumba cya Rap” took place on January 10, 2024, at Camp Kigali. It had originally been scheduled for Canal Olympia on December 27, 2024, but was moved due to venue limitations and heavy rainfall at the time. That concert featured some of Rwanda’s top rappers, including Riderman, Bull Dogg, P Fla, Fireman, Diplomate, Green P, Jay C, Bushali, B-Threy, Zeotrap, Danny Nanone, Logan Joe, and Ish Kevin.
