Ingabire Clement, the Senior Civil Engineer in the City of Kigali, is in the custody of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), facing corruption-related charges, including failure to disclose the origin of his assets and suspected illicit enrichment.
According to RIB, through its official account on X (formerly Twitter), investigations revealed that Ingabire owns property whose source he could not justify. As a result, his case has been forwarded to the Prosecution. He is currently detained at the RIB station in Nyarugenge while further investigations are underway.
RIB reminded public officials to refrain from using their authority for personal gain, as this constitutes a criminal offense under the law.
RIB also warned that individuals should avoid accepting to have unlawfully acquired property registered in their names or assisting in concealing such property.
