The Rwanda Cycling Federation (FERWACY) has appointed Nkurayija Hubert as the Coordinator of the Tour du Rwanda, a role previously held by Kamuzinzi Freddy whose contract has ended. The announcement was made on Monday morning through FERWACY’s social media platforms.
Assigning Hubert to this position is a step aimed at improving the planning and execution of this major race, both during preparation and throughout the event. FERWACY noted that his years of experience working closely with the Tour du Rwanda played a key role in choosing him to lead this segment of the race’s organization.
Hubert has served in various roles within the Tour du Rwanda, including as an Accreditation Manager and as a technology advisor—responsibilities that have contributed to enhancing professionalism in the recent editions of the race.
Beyond his involvement in the race, he is known in the cycling world as a former cyclist and team leader, having served as President of Team Amani, one of the well-known teams in the region. He is also among the founders of the Youth Racing Cup, a competition that has helped nurture young Rwandan cyclists to the international level.
Nkurayija Hubert has expertise in technology and innovation (IT & Digital Solutions), a skill set that FERWACY says will continue to support the integration of modern digital tools in the preparation and management of the Tour du Rwanda.
The 2026 edition of the Tour du Rwanda is scheduled to take place from February 22 to March 1, 2026.
