IN a groundbreaking initiative, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) has launched the Peace Club in Kanyama Township, Lusaka, Zambia.This pioneering project, dubbed the “Legacy of Peace Project,” was held from October 16-17, 2024, and aimed to contribute to Zambia’s stability in terms of peace and security.”We believe that peace education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for our children. By empowering students with essential skills for conflict resolution, respect for human rights, and acceptance of diversity, we can create a generation of peacebuilders who will shape a more harmonious world,” the statement reads in part.
The Peace Club conducted educational sessions and diverse peace activities led by HWPL certified peace educators and students. Activities like dream drawing games and bucket list creation encouraged students to think creatively and enhance their motivation for learning.
“The HWPL Peace Club has been a game-changer for our students. We have seen a significant improvement in their self-esteem, academic performance, and ability to resolve conflicts peacefully. We’re eager to expand this program to more schools and benefit students nationwide,” District Education Board Secretary d Ian Miyoba,said.
Through this project, HWPL Peace Club aims to foster a peaceful learning environment, nurture a culture of peace, and empower students to become advocates for peace.
By cultivating leadership skills centered on peace, the club empowers students to become future leaders who can resolve conflicts and promote sustainable peace.

HWPL is an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace and human rights worldwide. Founded in 2013, HWPL seeks to bring together individuals and organizations from diverse backgrounds to foster a culture of peace through education and advocacy.
The project was undertaken by Twashuka Primary School, Kanyama Central Secondary School, Chinika Secondary School, Chibolya Secondary School, and Shifwankula Secondary School.
