Rwanda’s national basketball team did not progress in the 2025 FIBA Afro-Basket tournament after finishing the group stage without a single win.
Rwanda played three games in Group A of the tournament taking place in Angola. They began their campaign on August 14 with a 78-70 loss to Côte d’Ivoire. On the following day, August 15, Rwanda faced the Democratic Republic of Congo and lost 65-58.
The third game, played on August 17 and seen as the team’s last chance to advance, ended in a 75-62 defeat to Cape Verde, concluding a challenging run in the tournament.
As a result, the national team was eliminated at the group stage. Afro-Basket 2025 continues in Angola, with other teams competing for a place in the next round.
