Yirunga Ltd has officially announced the schedule for the Kivu Beach Expo & Festival and Yirunga Festivals, which are expected to take place in various districts of Rwanda this year, 2026. Organized under the theme “Celebrate Culture, Tourism & Togetherness”, these events aim to promote tourism, culture, entertainment, sports, business, and community unity. The organizers indicate that these activities will serve as a platform to bring people together and foster business development, rather than being just about entertainment.
According to the released calendar, the Kivu Beach Expo & Festival 2026 program will focus on the Western Province. The activities will kick off in Karongi District at Bwishyura Ground from June 12 to June 21, 2026. Afterwards, they will continue in Rubavu District at Gisenyi Public Beach from July 09 to July 19, 2026, and then move to Rusizi District at Rusizi Taxi Park from July 24 to August 02, 2026. This program in the western region will conclude in Rutsiro District at Rutsiro Kivu Beach from August 14 to August 17, 2026.
On the other hand, the Yirunga Expo & Festival program, dubbed Culture & Community Experience, will take place in other districts of the country. This program will start in Nyagatare District at Hollywood or Rwiniriyaga from August 20 to August 23, 2026. The activities will proceed to Rwamagana District at Avega Motel Ground from September 01 to September 04, 2026, and finally wrap up in Musanze District at Ubworohereane Stadium from December 24 to December 26, 2026.
The festivals and exhibitions are expected to gather a large number of citizens, tourists, artists, business operators, and sports enthusiasts. Attendees will have the opportunity to closely follow daily activities including performances by artists, DJs, and MCs, exhibitions and trade fairs, as well as various sports competitions such as triathlon, badminton, volleyball, kayaking, and boat racing. There will also be cultural activities, entertainment, and major social gatherings. Currently, the organizers are well advanced in finalizing arrangements with other prominent artists in Rwanda in an effort to support and promote youth talent.
The management of Yirunga Ltd states that this approach will help promote the activities of partners and institutions at the national level and in other sectors, thereby calling upon companies and financial institutions to partner with them as sponsors or official partners. Prospective sponsors are assured of opportunities to gain visibility in broadcasting media and on social media platforms, promote their products and services, and support culture and tourism. The organizers project that over 10 million people from Rwanda and abroad will be reached by these activities through radio, television, social media, and various media outlets.
