The internationally renowned R&B artist, Chris Brown, was arrested by the British police and is facing charges of assault and battery.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred at a nightclub in London on February 19, 2023, where Chris Brown allegedly acted inappropriately, resulting in him assaulting and injuring someone unlawfully. The 36-year-old artist was in the UK for a music tour, having attended a performance as part of his international tour.
The British police announced that Chris Brown was arrested on May 15, 2025, while staying at a hotel in Manchester, where he was continuing his music career activities. The police stated that he is still in custody, and he is scheduled to appear in a Manchester court this Friday.
Adele Kelly, the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions for North London, confirmed that they had granted police permission to arrest Chris Brown. She explained that the police were authorized to charge him with serious assault, under the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, for intentionally causing harm to the victim.
The Sun, a UK newspaper, reported that Chris Brown arrived at Manchester Airport in a private jet on Wednesday, just after noon, at which point the police took him into custody.
