HWPL condemns murder of woman over allegations of missing manhood

By MONICA KAYOMBO, Lusaka, Zambia

HEAVENLY Culture, World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) Zambia branch has joined in condemning brutal the murder of woman in Kalumbila.
HWPL Deputy Chief Branch Manager, Mr Kenneth Muleya has issued a press statement condemning the decline in law obedience among Zambian citizens.
In the statement issued yesterday, Mr Muleya expressed HWPL Zambia’s profound concern over recent violent and lawless incidents, highlighting a disturbing erosion of moral values within the society. He cited egregious acts of mob justice, as witnessed in Kalumbila, homicides involving spouses, and the escalating prevalence of substance abuse, theft, and other deleterious vices amongst teenagers – further exacerbated by the alarming proliferation of vapour products marketed to adolescents and students – collectively signaling a profound crisis.
These reprehensible acts, Mr Muleya said, are symptomatic of a society in the throes of a moral nadir, beset by avarice, intolerance, and a dearth of empathy. He unequivocally condemned these actions, which arise from a flagrant disregard for the rule of law as established in the Zambian Constitution and a failure to adhere to established grievance procedures.
Mr Muleya emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of Peace Education, as enshrined in HWPL, the UN Charter on Peace, and Zambia’s National Principles and Values. He noted that the inalienable right to life and protection from violence is sacrosanct, as guaranteed by the Zambian Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Mr Muleya exhorted all Zambians to espouse the virtues of empathy, forgiveness, and respect, as espoused by scriptures and human rights instruments.
He called upon individuals, families, government, civil society, and all stakeholders to accord paramount importance to Peace Education and promote a culture of lawfulness, tolerance, and coexistence. Law enforcement agencies, he said, are duty-bound to play a pivotal role in ameliorating this situation.
“Let us unite in forging a Zambia where every citizen is accorded dignity, protection, and empowerment to contribute meaningfully to national development,” Mr Muleya said.
A woman of Kalumbila district in North-Western Province of Zambia was last week murdered on allegations of having made a young man’s manhood dissappear, an allegation that later turned out to be false.
