Safi highlighted their journey, which started from scratch and saw them grow together, performing small-scale shows before eventually earning millions. He shared:
“Our first show was in Nyanza. We were promised Rwf 30,000 but only received 15,000. Despite that, we were thrilled because it was the first time we got paid for singing. It’s something you can never forget.”
Reflecting on their shared life, Safi mentioned that Nizzo was his closest companion, and they often spent time together after concerts. He added:
“Humble, on the other hand, loved watching the movie Jumanji.”
Safi was part of Urban Boys for over a decade, during which the group made history in Rwandan music with hit songs such as Umwanzuro, Tayali, and Nipe, which featured international artists.
