The gospel music concert by Israel Mbonyi, titled “Icyambu Live Concert”, which was scheduled to take place in Rubavu District, has been postponed just four days before it was set to happen.
According to a statement released by the event organizers, the Icyambu concert in Rubavu was originally scheduled for January 1, 2026, at Stade Umuganda. The concert will no longer take place on that date and has been postponed to a new date, which will be announced in the coming days.

The organizers explained that this decision was made after receiving numerous requests from various people, particularly those who had planned to attend, and also considering Israel Mbonyi’s ongoing Icyambu tour across the country, which required additional adjustments to the schedule.
They stated:
“Based on the many requests we received and considering the Icyambu tour taking place across Rwanda, we wish to inform everyone that the Rubavu concert has been postponed. The new date will be announced in the coming weeks.”

Regarding those who have already purchased tickets, the organizers said they will contact everyone individually to provide two options: either use the tickets for upcoming Icyambu concerts or request a refund.
The organizers asked Israel Mbonyi’s fans and those planning to attend to be patient and continue supporting him, assuring that they will continue celebrating with fans at other Icyambu concerts scheduled across the country.
The Rubavu concert was highly anticipated, as Israel Mbonyi has a long history of making history with his performances, consistently filling venues wherever he performs. The Icyambu concert series has become especially popular both in Rwanda and abroad.
