Through decisions made by the Cabinet Meeting held this Wednesday, Candy Basomingera was appointed as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, replacing Uwayezu Jean François Regis.
After more than eight months in office, Uwayezu, who served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, was removed from the position. He was replaced by Candy Basomingera, who was the Director General at the Rwanda Convention Bureau, an institution responsible for promoting conference tourism.

In December last year, changes occurred in the Ministry when Nelly Mukazayire, who was the Permanent Secretary, was appointed as the Minister of Sports, replacing Nyirishema Richard, who became the Director General of the Rwanda Water Resources Board. At that time, Rwego Ngarambe, who was the Director of Sports in the Ministry, was appointed as Minister of State.
