Rwandan rapper Hakizimana Amani, popularly known as P-Fla, said he cannot understand how, after 20 years in the music industry, his photo is not displayed at BK Arena, yet when he recently visited the venue, he found that a photo of Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack (Diamond Platnumz) was among the first to be displayed.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, December 22, 2025, P-Fla said it was painful for him to see a Rwandan entertainment venue like BK Arena lacking photos of many local rappers and other Rwandan artists, while photos of foreign artists are numerous.
He said:
“I went to BK Arena and found that my photo was not displayed, but I saw Diamond’s photo there, and I was shocked. Imagine, after 20 years in music, my photo is not in the Arena, yet Diamond’s is.”
He continued:
“But if you go to Tanzania, I am confident you would not find photos of Riderman or Bull Dogg displayed in their Arena, yet here we find foreign artists’ photos in our own Arena. That really hurt me. I told myself that if I don’t say it in a song, I will say it directly, because it hurt me deeply.”
P-Fla also said that although he saw Kendrick Lamar perform at a very high level during his concert in Kigali in October 2023, he did not see any Rwandan rappers performing alongside him. He said this could make others think that Rwanda does not have a strong hip-hop scene.
He said:
“I saw Kendrick Lamar at an extremely high level; he is one of the most intimidating rappers in the world. But you wonder if he might have left thinking that Rwanda has no hip hop, because on that stage where he performed, I didn’t see any other strong rapper. I didn’t see Bull Dogg, Riderman, or others. In the future, concert organizers should recognize that we are also strong rappers […]”
Regarding music, P-Fla said he is currently busy preparing his new album, which will be released in 2026, and he plans to launch it in a concert that will also celebrate 21 years in his music career.
He also mentioned that there were people who impersonated him and released his songs without informing him, but things are now improving.
He added:
“Imagine someone releasing your song without telling you? That forced me to immediately start other projects, but now things are going very well. I believe that next year I will also be close to that level.”
P-Fla concluded by saying that celebrating 21 years in music is one of the things that makes him proud of his journey, and grateful to still be aliv
