On the night of Friday to Saturday, December 6, 2025, the international artist launched his new album 5IVE, performing for one hour and 18 minutes in a concert that introduced Kigali to a new era of entertainment.
From 7 PM on Friday, December 5, 2025, BK Arena had already turned into a wall of lights, sound, and dance. It was a grand and exceptional event, especially because it was attended by First Lady Jeannette Kagame.
The high ticket prices did not stop thousands of music lovers, cultural enthusiasts, youth, and children from filling the arena as they eagerly waited to see Davido like never before. The concert was part of his global “5ive Alive Tour”, and Kigali proved it was ready to host him.
Usually, Davido is preceded on stage by top local artists. In Kigali, it became a new opportunity to showcase both rising talents and established stars:
Kid From Kigali opened the show, energizing the crowd with songs like Ahwi, Code, Muraho, and Yububu, which further affirmed his growing relevance.
Logan Joe followed with a wave of love. His songs Tricky, Ibitambo, and Whatever—performed alongside the fans—turned BK Arena into a sea of phone flashlights. B Threy joined him on stage for the hit Ndi Good, and the arena erupted.
Ariel Wayz moved many with her unique voice. She closed with her beloved track You Should Know, the song most fans had been waiting for.
Kitoko Bibarwa, who had been away from Rwanda for years, returned with emotion. He came in with Pole Pole, delivering an “acapella marathon” in the short time he had. He thanked Rwanda for its remarkable progress, saying he was amazed by the country’s transformation.
Juno Kizigenza brought exciting news: a new album coming in 2026. He said it is time to begin a new chapter. He performed Away with Ariel Wayz, showing that although they are no longer together as a couple, music still connects the emotional space between them. All these artists elevated emotions with one goal—preparing fans’ hearts to receive Davido.
Joyful screams, lifted flashlights, and a charged atmosphere filled the arena. Davido, dressed in his signature classy style, walked the short path from backstage to the crowd and stepped onto the stage like a king entering a country that adores him.
He opened with his classic Dami Duro, then continued with 10 Kilo, his 2025 hit that Rwandans had already embraced.
When he performed Aye, released 11 years ago, the entire arena had one reaction: jumping, singing loudly, and reliving the memories that turned the concert into a historical journey.
More hits followed—Blow Your Mind (feat. Chris Brown), Ogechi (2024), Twe Twe (feat. Kizz Daniel), Unavailable, Skelewu, Gobe, Risky, and others—confirming that Davido is in a league occupied by very few artists on the continent.
He spent over an hour on stage without taking a single break. His vocals, his energy, and his connection with the audience made the concert unlike any other.
Before finishing, DJ Ecool asked everyone to turn on their phone lights. In moments, BK Arena turned into a field of stars.
Davido then transitioned into With You, his song with Omah Lay, transforming the atmosphere into a moment of pure emotion that will remain unforgettable for those who attended.
Kigali is one of the cities Davido loves returning to; since 2014, he has performed there four times. BK Arena is one of the world’s top venues for hosting major concerts.
Kigali’s residents embrace Afrobeat as part of their lifestyle; they do not need to be taught how to love Davido.
The 5IVE album is a special chapter in the artist’s life, and Kigali had the privilege of hosting its launch in a way that surpassed other locations.
BK Arena once again proved that Kigali has elevated its music scene to another level and is capable of hosting global superstars.
