The President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, is currently on a routine break, as confirmed by the Government. This is a normal practice for any leader with extensive responsibilities, both domestically and internationally.
This clarification comes in the wake of false information circulating on social media, alleging that the President’s health is in critical condition. The Government has dismissed these claims as baseless rumors intended to mislead the public, urging Rwandans to disregard them.
In its explanation, the Government stated that President Kagame has recently been handling a number of demanding responsibilities, within the country and abroad. Taking time off to rest, therefore, is a necessary and expected move for any leader in such a position.
Those close to the President have confirmed that he is doing well and that his current absence from the public eye is nothing more than a well-deserved break. This situation reflects a broader understanding of leadership recognizing that leaders, too, need time to recharge in order to continue guiding the nation effectively
