Rayon Sports WFC Continues to Strengthen Its Vision by Retaining Key Players

As part of its efforts to build a strong and stable team that will represent Rwanda in the upcoming CECAFA competitions, Rayon Sports WFC has extended the contracts of five of its players who had reached the end of their previous deals.

The players who renewed their contracts for two more years include Uwanyirigira Sifa, Uwimbabazi Immaculée, Gikundiro Scolastique, Umuhoza Angelique, and Nyirandagijimana Diane. They have been instrumental in the team’s recent performances, helping Rayon Sports WFC become the leading women’s football club in Rwanda.

This decision comes as the club prepares for the 2025/2026 season, which is set to begin soon. Retaining these experienced and talented players is a key part of the team’s strategy to perform well in upcoming competitions, particularly the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers of the CAF Women’s Champions League, scheduled to take place in Tanzania in September 2025.
